From the beginning of April 2013 until the end of December 2013 I worked at the cool trendsetter online and offline retailer and trader The Village Bicycle. Located in London, this company strive to push boundaries in the fashion industry by providing edgy and trendy items of clothing with a unique twist. The Village Bicycle promotes and sells clothing from more than twenty-five different designers from all over the world.
My position at The Village Bicycle was, initially, to assist the Merchandizing Editor, to help cover for the Online Fashion Editor’s – who interviewed me – role of managing the social media since she would be leaving the company a few days before I started my internship and also to be do Graphic Design as they didn’t have anyone in-house to do that job. This internship was supposed to last for 3 months but I was hired by the company to be their in-house Graphic Designer, at the end of the two first months. I started my permanent role in the beginning of July, until the end of December 2013.
My placement in this company happened during a curious time as they were in the process of relocating the physical store from Ledbury Road in West London to Brick Lane in East London while maintaining their online shop. I was not only in charge of creating all visual content for the website and social media platforms but also had a key role in supervising the website, online orders and keep track of stock.
Here are a few examples of the work I did for The Village Bicycle, from website and social media (Facebook, Instagram and Twitter) imagery; eCommerce images retouching and a evite for the opening of their new physical shop in the cool and hip Brick Lane.
